A Week of Lipseys - Day 4
Miles is working on his sitting. He's such a rolypoly guy that he often rolls to the side and back, and ends up bonking his head on the floor. (We love our hardwoods but they're not conducive to soft landings.) Grace likes to watch him practice and thinks it's funny when he rolls onto his back. Given that he won't fit into any of the cute little infant seats out there, we're hoping he gets the hang of sitting on his own soon.

A Week of Lipseys - Day 3
Just one photo today. In case this doesn't mean anything to you, let me describe what it means to me:

(A little underwhelming, I know.)
- For the first time in our married lives (and, for me, the first time since I lived at home during college), we have a garage. Not only do we have a garage, but
- For the first time since we moved in (18 months ago), we have reduced and organized our stuff enough to make a permanent space for a car. And the car is not alone...
- For the first time since I was pregnant with Grace, we have space to set up my bicycle with the trainer so I can ride indoors (important to reaching my triathlon goals)
Lest you be overwhelmed with joy at our accomplishments, I should point out that the photo also shows that the space created in the garage is being filled by my parents' car, not our van. If we learn something new every day, the thing I learned today is that our garage is extremely small, hardly qualifying as a two-car garage. Well, okay, a two-car garage. We could have the van in there, or extra stuff in there, but not both. Hmm, more work to do. But for the moment, behold our glorious achievement.
(A little underwhelming, I know.)

A Week of Lipseys - Day 1
That's right... Five days straight of new blog posts from the Lipsey family. A veritable grab bag of "what's happening with Vic, Melinda, Grace, and Miles this week." No guarantees of lengthy stories or explanations (and no guarantees that there won't be). Just a promise to post at least one picture each day.
So we begin today with three photos of the ever-energetic Miles. Seven months old, two teeth, size 24-month jammies, and a keen interest in gadgets. Oh, and a doctor visit later this morning to make sure that his cough and dry skin (unrelated issues) aren't anything to be worried about.
See you again tomorrow!

We Haven't Forgotten
It's been over a month since we last posted here, but it's not for lack of activity, lack of photos, or lack of words. Simple lack of time and energy.
As usual, though, we have some photos to tide you over...

Triumph
Sometimes, on a difficult day, you have to celebrate the little victories.
I like saving money. Seriously. Saving money is one of my superpowers. (To balance that, I have the superweakness of always choosing the slowest line anywhere. Don't get in line with me.) But saving money can often take time -- time to research different stores, sales, prices, coupons, promotions, etc. -- as well as mental energy. With two itty bitties, I don't have much time or mental energy these days. Superpower temporarily shelved.
Yesterday it made a brief appearance. Safeway paid me $1.00 to take this juice off their hands ($3 price - $1 coupon -$1.50 coupon - $1.50 reduction).

Sometimes it's the little victories.

Gone the Way of the...

Shyayah (glasses)
Aminamoy (orange)
Baisiyohyoh (bicycle)
And we love the occasions when she doesn't know all the words to a story or song, so inserts a word she knows that sounds similar to her, usually with hilarious results. My favorite example -- anyone know the hymn, "Praise Him, Praise Him, Jesus, A Beaver?" No? Thought not. But when blessed redeemer isn't in your vocabulary, what do you do?
